The Dragon has departed. (September 23, 2007)

It was with terrible sadness that we received news of the passing of our beloved author, Robert Jordan, on September 16, 2007. For two years he fought a valiant fight against amyloidosis, but sometimes though you win battles, you still lose the war. RJ gave all his readers a wonderful gift that we can never repay, and we at The Great Hall will forever be grateful to the man who took us on one of, if not the, most fantastic literary journies of our lives. He will be greatly missed...but never forgotten.

I will be posting a memorial page here on The Great Hall soon, sharing my memories and favorite stories of Robert Jordan. It will also provide a place for fellow fans to share theirs. Please check back soon. Our love and prayers and condolences are with Harriet and the Rigney family in this difficult time.

As he once wrote himself, "May you shelter in the palm of the Creator's hand, and may the last embrace of the mother welcome you home." Goodbye, Jim, and thank you. You forever changed our lives. - Eniara Kisharad
